Tiki Tim’s Food Truck at Dedicated CRI
Last Wednesday we partnered with Tiki Tim’s food truck to feed the hungry with a new event, Food Truck for Hunger. We invited the neighborhood offices to come out for a food truck lunch to build community and support a good cause. For every meal purchased at the food truck, we committed to donating 5 meals to Feed My Starving Children.
Tiki Tim’s brought their tropically-inspired, slow-roasted pulled pork with pineapple, jerk chicken, ginger slaw, fish tacos, and crab cakes (made with real crab!). Topped with hot sauce and their signature garlic cream sauce, the food would be an exciting alternative lunch option. A welcome variation from the standard Taco Bell and Burger King options. Hawaiian street food was coming to Roseville, and for a good cause.
The event was a huge success, with a line crisscrossing the parking lot during the entire two hours of lunch. We could watch the migration of supporters to Tiki Tim’s. People came from all the office buildings and businesses around Dedicated. We could even hear the buzz of excitement in the halls of our own office building. The camaraderie was tangible.
All in all, supporters purchased 133 lunches from Tiki Tim’s food truck. There were a lot of happy people and full bellies in Roseville! Plus, with 133 meals sold, we donated 665 meals to Feed My Starving Children. That brings our total this year up to 15,901 meals donated to Feed My Starving Children, and 29,623 meals donated since the inception of Dedicated.
We had a ton of fun and can’t wait to do it again. Eating good food with good people for a good cause. Good times!
